I`ve been a customer of oldrids for…

I`ve been a customer of oldrids for well over 40 yrs. and don`t write this lightly. At oldrids you pay a little more but you used to get better quality and better service i`m afraid with my last purchase I got neither. Dining table and 6 swivel chairs not a cheap purchase , on delivery 3 chairs were damaged which to be fair where exchanged no problem. after just over a year they are disintegrating they are coming apart at the seems but worst of all the material seems to be blistering an looks as if it rotting on all 6 chairs. I informed oldrids and sent photos to be fobbed off with we will speak to manufacturers who most likely in china. One email later they don`t want to do anything for me. The dining table and chair are not of the quality I would have expected for the price i`ve paid. The reaction from oldrid`s is not what i`ve been used to over the years as i`ve had problems and have always been sorted with little fuss , but this time it`s been dismal and I actually feel cheated. Will not be going to oldrid`s for replacement or anything else.

thank you for your review. It is really disappointing to read how you are unhappy with the service you received on this occasion with your dining set, as clearly, we don't want this to be the case. However, it is gratifying to read how your previous experience of well over 40 years was such that you continued to shop with us, which we thank you for.

Unfortunately, we are not always able to supply the solution that a customer believes to be justified. We do appreciate that sometimes products can breakdown, develop faults or show wear and tear, therefore what we will always do is look to be reasonably fair and consistent with our dealings with all customer matters as laid out in the manufacturers guarantee. As a business, we simply cannot afford to offer guarantees above and beyond those of the manufacturer, and in this case the manufacturer guarantee had expired several months ago.

We did advise that if you believed that we were not acting fairly or appropriately in this matter that you could raise a dispute with The Retail ADR who are a retail ombudsman. The team also supplied the contact details for them to help you should you wish to raise a dispute.

We are sorry again that this is not the outcome you desired.
