Excellent quality e-bike, fast shipping, reasonable price
For a while I had observed the e-bike market in Switzerland. I read that in summer 2025 that dealers were sitting on large quantities of unsold e-bikes which had been procured during the Corona pandemic - and now they hardly could be sold.
There were then quite a few sales, sometimes up to 50% off the original price. I was first considering a Leopard e-Bike from Jumbo (COOP), but then I saw the e-bikes offered by e-Wheels. A very informative website, with many models, excellent features, and a few e-bikes were reduced in price by 40%. The shipping cost was CHF 0, in contrast to many other sites. And the delivery time was given as 1-4 days - absolutely acceptable for me.
So I decided to purchase online a JASON PRO TREKKING, with L frame suitable for my size.
Ordering was easy, I did pay with my credit card.
Got immediately an email confirming my purchase.
There was a link in that mail to check the order status, and that led to a 404 error. That made me a little nervous, especially because that error was not yet fixed on the next day, and I had gotten no further email from e-Wheels. The email from e-Wheels also stated that there is an unexpected delivery problem, and that the delivery would be later than anticipated. That made me even more nervous - I did not want to receive the velo in winter, I wanted it now. I read a few reviews on TrustPilot, and some dissatisfied customers mentioned a delivery delay of 3 months.
So I decided that I might just drive directly to one of the three outlets in CH, each of them had listed this e-bike in stock. I called the phone number, but there was only an English answering prompt. I did leave a message, in German, that I would like to pick up the bike directly. Later I noticed that all the three store locations had the same phone number, which apparently was redirected to a site in Norway - where the headquarters of e-Wheels are located.
I also noticed that on the website an email address is given, the same for each store. And that was the email address from which I had received the first order confirmation. It had stated there that no reply to this email was accepted. I did then anyway write to that email address, forwarding my order confirmation, and asking if I could pick up the e-bike directly at a store.
Next day I received an very friendly email from William from e-Wheels, confirming that my e-bike had been indeed already shipped the day before, and that it was scheduled to arrive the next day. That would make it three days delivery. Excellent!
I also received an email from the shipping company Planzer that there would be an unforeseen delay, but their official online schedule stated that the bike would arrive the next day. So no problem in my view if the bike does not arrive today, I am glad when it arrives the next day.
And indeed it did: 2pm next day I got a phone call, the truck is on its way. I met the truck driver, the bike was unloaded, then I brought it to my place and began unpacking. All was very well packaged, no damaged items, all was well.
Everything was there, I did follow the very clear instructions on their YouTube video. All necessary tools were included, but I used also a few of my own tools to make some adjustments easier for me. Then I charged the battery, and then I took a first test ride. Excellent! Very sturdy bike! Nice thick tires, exactly as I wanted them. And very comfortable to ride, with lots of power helping me in my uphill rides.
So overall an excellent experience, purchasing an excellent e-bike for a reasonable price. Never mind the things which did initially make me a bit nervous - they were all resolved, and the bike arrived 3 days after I had ordered it.
