Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service. I was never able to successfully create an account. Called up customer service 3 times and talked to 3 different staff, non of which were able to help me and were very unwilling to allow me to make an account. Would not recommend as it was a waist of my time.
I ordered a Tesla for a rental
I ordered a Tesla for a rental. The day I went to pick it up in the morning when I got there I was informed it wasn’t available. They gave me an iconic 5 as a replacement.I was in an accident in this vehicle where I was hit from behind on I 85 north in Georgia. I received a police report identifying the person responsible. I also received the insurance information for the person responsible. Flex car attempted to take 2000.00 out of my account for an accident that I was not at fault. The bank declined the 2000.00 transaction but they were able to successfully take 500.00 and put that particular account in to a negative balance. I never heard of a 2000.00 deductible until now . I also asked if I was responsible to pay the deductible even if I wasn’t at fault , why didn’t they inform in advance. They assume they everyone that rents from them is disadvantaged and they can treat them any way they want to. I went and bought a truck and returned their vehicle cleaner than I received it. The person at the desk was very rude and didn’t speak to me . He took the keys from me and went out to inspect the car . I left all the doors and trunk open so that he could see that I detailed the car . He went out and slammed all the doors closed without speaking to me. Which is no problem . I just walked off the property and Called an Uber and went home . They are holding on to my 500.00 dollars like the life of the company is depending on it. Between all the additional charges for going over on your mileage or additional charges on your insurance for exceeding your safe driver points doesn’t make this a good deal. Anyone renting a car from a business of this type generally will not be able to afford a 2000.00 deductible. That should not even be an option. This company does bad business . Stay clear.my Uber driver asked me for a recommendation for them and I advised him to avoid doing business with them . I will be spreading the word as much as possible. If they did it to me they can do it to you. I want my 500.00 back.
Very straightforward business

The guy at Tampa Florida airport rental service was rude. DO NOT RENT A CAR AT THIS COMPANY 😐 PLEASE
I rented a car from Flexcar
I rented a car from Flexcar, I was originally charged 850.00 then I have paid another 1000 and have only had it for 3 weeks. It sounds good ipfront then they start taking money out of your account. I canceled and then they took 249.00 from my account for a fee for keeping the vehicle this was after I canceled. Worst customer service, they do not help with anything and only give excuses. Do not fall for this scam.
⭐ 1-Star Review for Flexcar
⭐ 1-Star Review for Flexcar
My husband decided to rent a car from Flexcar, and honestly, it’s been a horrible experience. They charge you daily for mileage, and the starter membership only gives you around 800 miles. After that, we were getting charged about $40 every single day for going over the limit.
With Turo, we can rent a car for about $40 a day insurance and everything included and we can drive as much as we want with no mileage caps. Even if you add the $7–$10 a day for insurance, it’s still way more affordable and flexible.
Flexcar also wanted my husband to pay for the extra mileage first, then the membership fee $250, and told him he’d need to upgrade to a more expensive mileage plan for an extra $300 a month on top of a $400 car payment. We gave them $600 before picking up the car to cover the first month. My husband said he would have to pay them $800 beforr the car payment at the end of the month. And this was for a small car that our family couldn’t even all fit in.
To make things worse, we had to drive all the way to Charlotte (over 200 miles) to return the car, spent extra money renting another car to get there, and they couldn’t even waive the mileage fees. They only gave us a $50 credit for 100 miles, which was nothing compared to what we paid.
We’ve spent too much money already and decided to stop the bleeding. We’re done with Flexcar. Turo will be getting our business from now on better cars, better prices, and way better customer service.
Highly recommend Turo over Flexcar save yourself the headache! We will never use them again, total rip off and they're taking advantage of people in very vulnerable situations and trying to trap them.
Safe driving score incentivizes unsafe driving!
I WISH I could leave Flexcar an excellent review. I've loved everything about my Flexcar—except for the safe driving score.
My “safe driving” score dropped by several points because I braked hard to avoid hitting a child who bolted into the street. There was no way to foresee this. I can’t believe that in that split second, I had to choose between protecting my score and protecting a life. You should never have to choose between keeping your score up and keeping someone alive.
Flexcar claims it started this program to incentivize safe driving, but as my story proves, it actually incentivizes unsafe behavior. Ridiculous and disgusting.
They're safe driving program is a scam…
They're safe driving program is a scam I've been driving for almost 40 years I live near Boston and have told them repeatedly to stop.
My driving record is clean I've never had an accident or a ticket yet somehow they believe they're safe driving program is excellent.
It's based on the car I haven't even driven for 5 days and it went down two points.
If they don't deal with this I'll take it to the better Business bureau but I recommend you avoid this company till they address this issue

Very bad experience. It is all financial , first the membership has to be paid 2 weeks after you lease the vechicle which was not told to me. When I asked for a extension they said no ! Next when your payment is due you never know how much it could be. The taxes are not added until the day 5hey are processing your payment. Not happy with this company at all !

Flex has work to do!
Car was initially dirty, getting it recleaned wasn’t much better. The car battery went out completely. I got it replaced but it was a huge hassle resulting in me completely missing work.
The miles limit is ridiculous if…
The miles limit is ridiculous if someone is paying 800 a month for a car it should be unlimited miles . Come on I’m sure I’m not the only one complaining about the miles .
Not a cost saver
If You Are Looking for a Money-Saving Stop Gap, Proceed with Caution
I’m giving FlexCar 2 stars — one for the kind and helpful staff, and one for the car itself, which ran well. Unfortunately, the overall experience left me financially frustrated and deeply disappointed.
I initially signed up thinking FlexCar would be a temporary, cost-effective solution — something that would cost around $750 per month including insurance. But very quickly, that projection unraveled. In both September and October, my actual monthly charges ballooned to over $1,400.
The most maddening part of the experience was the way FlexCar withdraws large amounts of money from your account with no warning or approval. The tipping point for me was an incident where my rearview mirror was damaged by a hit-and-run. I fully understood I would be responsible for the cost, and I even requested to break the $2,000 deductible into manageable payments. Instead, FlexCar immediately attempted to pull the full $2,000 from my account in a single transaction, without discussing terms or timelines.
This unexpected withdrawal caused a significant financial strain. And while I understand insurance deductibles are standard, the lack of communication, consent, or flexibility in handling it was unacceptable.
FlexCar might still be a viable short-term option for someone in a pinch — but only if you:
Stay well under mileage limits
Avoid any damage whatsoever
Are okay with little-to-no control over your bank account once it's linked
In the end, the hidden costs outweighed the convenience, and I strongly urge others to read the fine print and prepare for unexpected charges if they move forward.
I think Flexcar has a lot of good…
I think Flexcar has a lot of good perks, no obligation to a car note, included, maintenance included. The only thing that is starting to feel like with all those perks it’s still not worth it, is having to pay for the mileage.
Smooth and informative experience
Easy, smooth experience. A little congested at the time I went, maybe consider adding a variety of shorter timeframes for pick up to lighten burden on staff and minimize wait times. Once it was my turn, they were friendly and very helpful answering all of my questions and inspired trust and reliability if anything was to go wrong.
