The design of the bike is awesome
The design of the bike is awesome. The packaging was top notch. There wasn’t anything dented, etc. Something you could improve on is customer support in understanding how your bikes match up to other bikes. During our decision process, we called your customer support team and the woman didn’t know much about your bike or how it compares to other e-bikes.

Basalt is a great bike no problems so far would buy again
We love our Asphalt bikes
We love our Asphalt bikes. The bikes are very easy to operate and maintain. We highly recommend Mokwheel for the recreational user.
Excellent quality and a very solid performer
The bike was fairly easy to assemble and the quality was excellent. Battery life is very good, allowing for long rides without any concerns. The bike is very solid and I expect many years of fun.
Expectations and beyond
When researching and looking for an E bike Mokwheel was the first company that really stood out. There were a lot of comments out there mentioning horrible customer service. After corresponding with them through email before purchase, I found the responses quick and informative. I’ve had a couple questions after purchase and they have never let me down. There responses a for any problem that I was having was quick. This is a solid bike that’s not filled with nonsense gadgets that a lot of other manufacturers try to incorporate. They included everything needed to get started and the quality is definitely there. We purchased two bikes both Basalt 2.0. We have stretched out our riding distance to 50 miles without any power derogation or fear of running out of battery. If you’re having any doubts, don’t you won’t be disappointed.
Great customer service
Had a problem with electrical. Contacted Mokwheel and got an immediate response from tech team. Sent new part and it corrected problem.

Good customer service to replace a faulty screen. Only needed the bracket as the plastic broke over time, but it was all one piece so they sent the screen with the bracket. Kind of a poor design as it's not modular. Thankfully this was still under warranty.

I was 100% satisfied with their customer service. It seems their customer service has improved dramatically over the past 3 years.
Keeps me mobile!
Everything I could ask for in a bike.
Nice to have the assist when on a long summer trek, battery level has never been an issue.
Dedicated customer support
An odd problem that was hard to articulate. Customer service was able to solve the problem in a timely manner.
The construction quality of the bike is…
The construction quality of the bike is great, and the assembly instructions very clear. However, the torque sensors do not work properly, and the bikes have a strong tendency to ghost pedal. Which gets very irritating, especially on rough terrain.

I had a fantastic experience with Mokwheel eBike! From the beginning, they showed me great respect, responded quickly, and really cared about my needs. A special shout-out to Chad for his outstanding customer service. Overall, I really appreciate their dedication and support!
Responsive when I had a problem.
They were responsive when I had an issue with my Obsidian E Bike. They diagnosed and sent new replacement parts in a timely manner. Only issue I had was that they do not provide any instructions for installation for my model bike, instead they provided a link to a repair video for another model of e bike on how to replace the parts.
Obsidian 2.0 Great Bike
I ordered tge Obsidian 2.0 came on time package very securely no damage. The bike went together easily. I needed to contact customer service and the returned my call the same day. Great bike great customer service!
Quick response but no instructions
They were quick to respond, got my part to me (under warranty) and it was the correct part. They did neglect to send any instructions or video link (as promised) so it was a bit difficult to figure out. The part was the key lock for the battery compartment. It was a bit tricky figuring out how to get the old part out with the battery still locked in.
But overall, I was very happy with the service and I love my Basalt bike.

Basalt ST - Great Bike!
I received my Basalt ST about 3 weeks ago. Here are my thoughts:
1. Bike itself is very well built.
2. Assembly was not too bad with a couple exceptions (See below for details).
3. Instructions diagrams could be clearer and/or larger.
4. Written instructions had some strange phrases that made no sense to me. I assume they were written by someone from another country that had bad grammar skills.
5. Some things were not discussed at all. Mostly in regards to accessories. Nothing on how to adjust the seat preload. Nothing on how to adjust the shock preload. Mirror install was also guesswork. I ended up losing one on my first trip but I take the blame for that.
It came with nice tools which was unexpected!
There were bags and bags of hardware such as nuts, screws. I didn't see most them mentioned anywhere. Turned out they were just spares, which also great. On a good note, I emailed customer care about it and they replied within 15 minutes.
Finding a spot to put the phone mount was a little tricky. Once again I contacted customer care and they sent me a link to a video. However, my handlebars have a small diameter area that it wouldn't tighten up on. The remaining real estate on the handlebars is tapered so it wouldn't go there. I ended up making a spacer so that I could get it tight on the small part.
After all this I took it for a long 32 mile ride around Hilton Head Island. It worked flawlessly and I loved the 6 mile stretch on the beach with little effort.
Being 65 I live having a way to get outdoors without stress or strain.
Even with the few comments above, I still give it a five.

My experience thus far :)
Mokwheel's website was easy to navigate. The ordering process was easy and straightforward. From what I can tell, Mokwheel has very good deals on their ebikes - I got mine on sale and saved over a $1,000, which is a bonus in this current economy.
Regarding the ebike itself - I purchased the Mokwheel Obsidian 2.0. At the time of this review, I have ridden approximately 28 miles. The Obsidian 2.0 is a very sturdy feeling bike, you can feel the weight of it as you are riding, it is a lot heavier than standard bikes. The pedals and motor respond well to the input they're given. Speaking of, I want to offer a word of advice... when you are getting ready to ride one of these bikes for the first time, make sure the pedal assist level is set at 0..... I did not and had mine set at level 1 and I was not prepared for the immediate jump of power and I was absolutely not balanced enough for that! I almost hit my sister's car and at the same time, almost fell off. I went into that first ride like I would a normal manual bike, which in hindsight was dumb of me..... Set the gear to a lower number which makes it easier to pedal without the motor assist and the weight of the bike. Give yourself a minute to acclimate and then turn the pedal assist on. Save yourself from that mini-heart attack and potential fall :).... Overall the bike rides well, I haven't had the chance to test its capabilities on rougher terrain. I plan to do so at my earliest opportunity.
I would say the Obsidian is geared more towards taller individuals - I am a woman, standing at 5'6 and I can make it work. However, the step-through version of Obsidian 2.0 would have been better suited to my height and how short my legs are - I just prefer the step-over look.
Putting it together was easy - I will say I did cheat a bit as I had my brother assemble it for me... He didn't have any problems at all, he followed the manual without issue.
I have not ridden any bike in 10 years and I have never ridden an Ebike before, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into. That said, I really am enjoying this ebike - I come back from a ride smiling ear-to-ear. The assist that the motor gives is enough to help me not become exhausted and dreading having to ride back home. I have asthma and the ebike means I have a flexibility with assistance that I would not have on a regular manual bike.
To anyone looking for an ebike, I would do research and figure out which type of bike is more suited to your lifestyle and your needs. I watched a lot of reviews online before making any purchase - I looked into many different brands before deciding on Mokwheel and then I really looked at each bike they offer to see which would be the best possible match for me.
Once you figure all that out and have an ebike at your home, ready to ride - Have fun and enjoy it!
From basalt to obsidian
I bought the basalt 2yrs ago! I absolutely 💯 loved it! I recently sold it to upgrade to the obsidian! I took it out today and put it through it's paces on Utahs serious back country trails! It's torque , power and suspension are on point! Amazing bike! You will will not be disappointed purchasing anything from this company! The customer service Mokwheel provides is unmatched! Thank you Mokwheel!
