Update as of December 7, 2025: Following my previous reviews on Nov 15 and Nov 26 regarding my closed business account (Webdroid IT LLC), I finally received an email on November 29 from "Kim K" in Customer Experience Support.
Kim explicitly confirmed in writing that my disbursement checks were being "expedited for reissue."
I was relieved to finally reach a human. However, that was over a week ago. Since that email:
I have received no confirmation that the checks were actually sent.
I have received no tracking numbers.
Most importantly: My follow-up emails asking for a status update are being ignored completely.
It is incredibly distressing to be told that over $68,000 in business funds is being "expedited," only to be ghosted immediately after. Silence after a promise is worse than the initial automated loop.
Kim K / Relay Support: Please reply to my email thread immediately with the tracking numbers for these checks. You acknowledged the debt on Nov 29; please finish the job.

I am using this service since 2022, but compared to Revolut or European banking systems is really Poor. I sent bigger amount USD deposit to my company account (myself - owner - investment to the company). Own taxed money sent from Europe by SWIFT network. Normally when i pay to my suppliers directly to USA, they always have money NEXT DAY. But by Relay Financial - today is 4th day and money NOWHERE!!! Mailing with them since yesterday morning (explaining is Routine check by beneficiary bank)....but as i need make business purchase now, they destroyed my business!!! Even i cannot reach them by phone on their support line, their answer to my e-mail comes always first Next Working Day. So from my own experience it is Poor and i lost big opportunity and good deal because of Relay Financial. Today is my Birthday - so thank You Relay for the best gift you could give me.
EDIT: Yesterday after almost 2 days i received e-mail, that the money will be credited by END OF THIS DAY....but guess what happened: NOTHING!! 600K NOWHERE! My deal to buy property is gone, no excuses, money somewhere lost in system and maybe only option will be investigate where they are???....but 2 days ago i received e-mail from Relay, that they already have them in their Bank, and want clarify source of funds...that was done by minutes from me, but even after another 50 hours the receiving bank holds full amount and does not want add them to my account. Simple explained: very unserious

I’m sharing this because I don’t want any other business owner to go through what I’m dealing with.
Relay froze my business account without a clear reason and has been holding my company’s funds for weeks.
My operations, payroll, and vendor payments have all been affected.
I provided every document they asked for — including proof from the issuing bank. yet they continue delaying responses, asking for unnecessary documents, and ignoring follow-ups.
What makes this worse is:
They charged my upgraded plan fee even while the account was frozen.
They blocked my transfer to my own savings account.
They did not respond to multiple emails from my end.
This situation has caused real damage to my business reputation and operations.
Nothing about this has been transparent or professional.
If you’re a business owner considering Relay, think twice because once something goes wrong, you’re on your own.
I’m still waiting for them to resolve this and release my funds.

I received an email from relay the day before Thanksgiving that Thread bank (their banking partner) made a compliance decision to close my account. The account specialist at relay could provide no further information and the closure is irreversable. I am a California licensed CPA who runs a firm and I live in Tijuana BC. I chose an online bank to be able to work remotely. I'm very disappointed because I have been using the bank for over 5 years without any incidents. It would be nice to know why the account was closed and to receive some guidance as to how or what could have been done to prevent it's happening. Not just some generic email.
I tried to transfer money 4 MONTHS AGO. The money is still blocked. No answer from Relay, i've send at least 10 emails, i always have the same answer "Let me bring this to our support team! A member of the Customer Experience team will follow up shortly by email. Our wait time is typically less than 1 business day.".
Guess what, it's been months and no answer !! I guess they have no real customer service, only AI (that needs to be improve).
I've ONCE managed to reach out what seemed like a human. A person who told me my money was blocked because the other bank didn't accept USD. So i asked them to put the money back on my account. I was told it was done and the money would be back in a few minutes....MONTHS AGO !
I guess they just hope me to forget that 5.000 USD are vanished from my account.
Anyway, don't recommend at all, a bank with 0 customer service shouldn't be able to operate.

All transactions were accompanied by invoices and transparent descriptions. Nevertheless, nearly 15,000 USD in business funds were frozen without a clear reason or a detailed compliance justification.
Instead of offering a direct transfer to another verified business account belonging to the same company, Relay insisted on sending a physical check after an unspecified “investigation period.” This outdated and impractical process significantly delays access to essential business funds and disrupts operations that rely on timely cash flow. For a financial institution serving companies, this approach creates unnecessary business risk and uncertainty.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise companies to consider alternative providers that offer modern payout options, clear compliance communication, and reliable access to their funds when needed.
If there is no progress, I will instruct legal counsel to handle the process and I will update this public review in detail, documenting every step so that other business owners can form their own opinion based on the full timeline and factual evidence.
My experience with Relay has been exceptional. The team has consistently demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and strong customer service. Communication has been clear and timely, and every interaction has reflected a high level of knowledge and support. Relay has made each process smooth and straightforward, and I truly appreciate the reliability and quality of their services. I look forward to continuing our partnership.

I’ve been a long-term Relay user with a spotless history and zero issues, and they still managed to deliver the most ridiculous, damaging experience I’ve had with any financial company.
Relay decided to refund my client’s payment without my approval, notice, or even a valid reason, leaving me looking unprofessional and forcing me to chase down money for a service I already provided. They basically threw me into the role of bill collector because of their own screw-up.
Not once did they give me a real explanation—just vague excuses that made no sense for a business banking platform. The fact that I had perfect account behavior, steady usage, and no disputes didn’t matter at all. They still handled it in the most careless way possible.
If you run a business and rely on timely payments, avoid Relay like the plague.
One sudden decision from them can derail your operations, embarrass you in front of clients, and destroy your trust in a company you thought was reliable.
There are plenty of banks out there—don’t make the mistake of trusting Relay with your money.
It's great until you want to close your account. Then it's hide-and-go-seek with emails, chatbots, online links, can't close an online banking service online... you have to call... but limited hours... one more hurdle... contact us between 12:01 and 12:02 GMT... wait on hold... get cut off... try again tomorrow... I will never use this company again.
