Multiple car rentals in South Africa
We had a number of separate car rental bookings from different companies in South Africa, over a 6 week period. The normal cost for excess insurance added at least AUD $1000 for that period of time.
So I turned to Rental Cover, who were not only more than half the price, they also covered way more issues that rental car companies e.g free extra driver, punctures, windscreens etc.
In more than 10 years travelling to South Africa never had damage of issues. This last time though, I backed into a tree at a cost of over ZAR8000 or about AUD$750. Fairly extensive claim form to complete but understand that prevents possible fraud. Claim approved 2 days after submitting and $$$$ in the bank same day as approval received. Very impressed !!!!

After having a terrible experience with a rental car company, I was concerned that my rental insurance with RentalCover might not cover the purported damage to the rental vehicle. I was wrong. RentalCover made it very easy to file my claim and approved it very quickly. I have used RentalCover many times in the past but this was the first time I ever needed to make a claim. If you end up at this company please try to get another Our rental car was vandalized and we were charged $830 in repairs broken window , We’ve spent 2 weeks trying every possible way to reach Rentalcover for the updated documentation agent needs, and they have not responded once. No customer service, no support, no resolution. Extremely disappointing—avoid this company at all costs.

Always convenient and considerably less expensive than car rental companies which offer coverage at their counter. I have fortunately only experienced one damage claim, a glass windshield issue, and it was handled promptly and with no more involvement on my part.

No hassle claim process, timely payment - great insurance!
Third party cover and no contact details
Be aware that insurance through this company is third party, so you’ll have to pay excess to hire company and then claim back. You’d be better taking fully comp insurance from hire company.
Our issue was that we couldn’t submit online claim to this company as link wouldn’t work. We tried emailing but go no responses for 3 weeks. Tried different pc, browser, clearing cookies. Kept trying multiple times a day for a week and eventually worked.
Claim went through quickly after this but very frustrating to begin with, and impossible to contact anyone to resolve issue.
Also when exchanged from Euro to pounds by this company - we lost £70
