Horrible experience with Synchrony's Lowes credit card. Did not give me the $100 credit for first use of card and agent put it in dispute instead of just resolving it. The went round and round to get rid of interest charges and late fees, even though charges were in dispute. Getting rid of this account.

No customer service, calls never answered, and user-hostile website.

1. they don't acknowledge their own mastercard account number.
2. they say call ‭1 (866) 664-1020‬ but no one answers, never, repeatedly, on several days, and after being told on repeated calls, please hold, and being reminded (literally) every 10 seconds how important my call is, after almost an hour each time (how dumb can i be?), they say, technical problem, click, FYATHYRIO.
3. their credit card website is diabolical; management should be forced to use it, among other things.

Although my credit score is in the mid to high 700's, Syncrony closed a couple high limit credit cards without notice or reason - basically damaging the score that i have been rebuilding since my identity was stolen 8 years ago. These cards were also paid in full. Use another source credit. Really poor customer service.

We're here to help
How do you resolve my claim for the third time after I call in three times and tell you all you have to reach out to me the Customer you all keep going based off of the business record of my Car being picked up one time and not that it went back two times after the June pick up to have the air events installed in the dash the exterior air events installed the first time and the center air events installed the second trip, which is when that plastic was broken. And a couple of weeks. After I picked up the Car once the Services were one Hundred percent. Complete. I noticed the crack in the plastic which I sent pictures prior to that third Service. That plastic was not broken. And then I sent pictures after that third Services with the cracked center console

You keep declining my claim without reaching out to me and without any explanation. I need a phone call or I need a full explanation Sent to me in my email. This is ridiculous. How you all handle your Business.

This company is a joke

This company is a joke. I got talked into doing a rebate with them if I signed up for their CC. I signed up and have been waiting 3 weeks for the card. I actually received an invoice before I even got my card. I cant sign up online without the card. I tried calling customer service, everytime it says a 30 minute wait. Finally when I got someone they said I need to wait for my card. As soon as I get my CC, going to pay balance and happily chop that card up to never be used again. Avoid Synchrony Bank at all costs!

Stop letting Synchrony tank your credit score

Once again got an email from Synchrony that they have canceled my JC Penney credit card of 20 years. Had a balance of $90.00 paid it off by the due date. Never had a late payment and never used the $3500 credit line. This was the 4th card they messed with this year. They lowered the limit on TJ Maxx, lowes and amazon. I canceled those cards as soon as they lowered them. I called them and canceled my mastercard and they asked why??? I am canceling my last 2 cards with them today. These people want to ruin your credit. Stop doing business with anyone that has their charge cards with them, Call the businesses and let them know you are no long doing business with them because of Synchrony. Just an FYI, the CEO of Synchrony was compensated $18,776,256.00 in 2024.

Amazon Card by Synchrony is Big Trash

They already sucked by then I got an email today stating they were doing away with the 0% financing option. So you people think I am going to pay 30%+ APR to buy crap from Amazon. Me thinks not. Avoid Synchrony Bank at ALL costs. They are a subprime lender and they are the store cards that JC Penney, Ashley Furniture, and many other brands use. Total rip-off and you can find a much better APR if you simply use your bank's credit cards.

DO NOT do business with Synchrony. They are a soulless business who doesn't value their customers. I had technical IT issues affect 2 payments. Out of 4 years, this was my only issue. Well, they closed my account and already have debt collector solicitors after me. I called them and tried to get them to reverse the action and they say there's nothing that can be done. Additionally, they reported it to the credit bureaus.

Synchrony customer service is TRASH

Synchrony customer service is literally the absolute worst experience I've had with all of Amazon. I've had Amazon store card for well over a year now, almost 2. Started with the prepaid cash card but switched to the store card, but they've only offered me a 500$ credit limit. For context, I make around 400k a year and spend thousands per month on Amazon. I also have cards with Chase, Amex and BMO and capital one. all with much higher credit limits. Many items I buy, I can't even use this card as it's over the limit. So ofc, I do what any rational person would do and try to apply for a credit limit increase.
- I Look for guides online on how to request a CL increase and they all say that you can just request it from your online account easily. I check there, looks like that button was removed (LOL OFC)

- I then try to use the chat support to request it. Chat support is completely broken.
> Oops! My wires got crossed for a second. I may have missed something. Can you please try again?
Ofc what was I expecting?

- I then try to call them directly, only to be received by some absolute NPC goons who can't even think for themselves. I ask for the largest increase available thinking it would be an easy request due to my income and my spend. "Sir, you need to give me a specific amount only." Ok fine, how about 10k? Ofc that is instantly declined with no consideration to my income at all lol. I ask for the reconsideration line and ofc I get "what is that?". My call gets escalated to a supervisor who also acted like an absolute bot and they retry with 2k this time and ofc, refused again.
At this point I'm just out of energy... I have no words... I would get it if capital one did that, because ofc they're known for that. But this is affiliated with Amazon. I've always praised Amazon for their best customer service but this one really changed my mind on that. Definitely considering getting rid of this card and maybe even Amazon prime altogether after this experience.

Oh and the funniest detail, when I started the call, they automated message gave me a whole spiel about how the call is recorded for training purposes and that there's going to be a feedback survey at the end so I should not hang up the call at the end so that I can give some feedback, but ofc, when the call ends, they just straight up hang up and there's no survey anymore, bc why survey customers you know are unhappy amirite?

We have been a Lowes cardholder for years (aka Synchrony Bank), but over the years we have encountered many, many frustrating times trying to contact a live person who knows what they are doing, resolve refunds, and/or eliminate unjustified charges. Misleading financing practices and terrible customer support

tl;dr: Intentionally misleading/not transparent, gouged on interest

I've had an extremely disappointing experience with Synchrony and their deferred-interest financing. I used their "Freedom to Ride" 12-month promotion for a bike purchase and set up automatic payments from day one. I never missed a payment, never paid late, and genuinely believed I was on track to pay off the promotional balance in time.

What Synchrony doesn't make clear is that the automatic minimum payment they suggest is not sufficient to actually pay down the promotional balance. Despite paying every month exactly as instructed, my balance wasn't being reduced quickly enough—and Synchrony gave me zero warning that I was off pace. No email, no notice, nothing.

Instead, after the promotional period ended, they instantly added hundreds of dollars in retroactive interest from day one, turning what should have been an interest-free purchase into an extremely costly one.

When I contacted customer service, the representatives were dismissive and made no effort to help. Even after explaining that I had auto-pay set up (which they never indicated wouldn't satisfy the promotional terms), they refused any courtesy adjustment and said there was "nothing they could do." The lack of transparency and customer care is shocking.

Deferred-interest promotions are already confusing, but Synchrony's implementation feels intentionally misleading. If you're considering financing through them: don't. The terms are unclear, the communication is poor, and customer service is unhelpful when their system sets you up to fail.

Avoid Synchrony if you can—there are far more transparent and consumer-friendly lenders out there.

This RIDICULOUS "bank" is purely a predatory lender. Their 34.99% interest rates speaks to this. I "had" 7 accounts with them with a combined credit limit over $65K. Three accounts with zero balances and $10K limits, 4 accounts with modest balances with limits ranging from $7.5 to $12.5K. Combined credit usage at roughly 20%. They closed them all at once. NO Late Payments, all on AutoPay schedules. Four accounts had as much as 48 month 0% finance plans that were used. Always paid the 0% finance before it was due, so.... no money in it for Synchrony. They don't want customers they can't make money off... they offer the special financing from particular merchants, and that is the gamble that Synchrony indeed set themselves up for. Hoping the customer can't pay until the due dates so that they can compound the 0% term interest, pound that 34.99% on to your tab, and try to sink the customer in debt. SLEAZY as F practice, sleazy as F bank!!! Then they think the polite thing to do is ask you to reapply... what a joke!!!

This is the absolute worse bank I have ever dealt with. Over the years I have had multiple cards handled by Synchrony Bank and once a card is paid in full they close the account. Now, they have closed my last 2 cards (Sam's Club and Venmo). I have been making minimum payments and their reason for closing the accounts is fear of failure to pay. This bank does everything it can to ruin a person's credit rating. I hope that I never have another card that is linked to Synchrony Bank.

WORST CREDIT BANK OF ALL TIMES!

WORST CREDIT BANK OF ALL TIMES WITH 1,329 ALL bad reviews is all you need to know, had 2 cards PayPal master and Sam's store card for 6 months. The PayPal card I always paid off the balance in full and they froze my payment for 800.00 dollars for 15 days to only credit it on day 18. Then when I attempted to charge another transaction they canceled both my PayPal and Sam's cards only to say i was a high risk...really for paying in full? I then attempted to apply for 2 cards 5 months later recently which was approved for Verizon Visa and Sam's club elite master and before the mail arrived they canceled both accounts (stating high risk, really I have 65K in credit cards with 2% utilization BALANCE. All I can say is they will cut, and cancel your limits and wreck your credit score 60-80 points by doing shady things. DO NOT apply with Synchrony bank YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED by 1,329 awful reviews!!! Do not finance anything from this Bank

Do not finance anything from this Bank. I can't believe Google uses them. I have multiple accounts with many banks and this one is by far the worst when it comes to fees. Not only did they lower count available amount by half for no reason. It's the only bank that I consistently get a late fee on. If I'm one day late I understand I should not be late. However, out of the 12 accounts I have, this is the only one that I get charged for And they refuse to do anything. So as soon as I'm paid up I'm out and will never use it again. I've already paid for my Google watch in fees and still owe.
