I PURCHASED two shower cloves ....they were not cheap and when they arrived I was disappointed....If I had seen them in store I would never have purchased....The Warehouse Marketplace is not a site I will view again or buy off....I highly recommend you buy install and not the Warehouse on line store

I have multiple issues with The Warehouse. They are absolutely unapologetic for bad service, faulty products or answering any queries through email.

I can see why people are not buying from the Warehouse like days of old. In poetic language... they suck.

Failed delivery twice of the same purchase, no compensation offered...

Failed delivery twice of the same purchase. I bought a 110L plastic storage bin. When it was delivered the lid was badly cracked. They sent a replacement, which tracking showed wouldn't be delivered because the second one had been damaged by the delivery driver too. After two failures I asked for a refund of $27.00. They said the refund would take up to 5 days. Why, in this age of instantaneous electronic tranactions does a refund take 5 days? They never offered a voucher or whatever as compensation for two failed deliveries, so I asked for some compensation. And they begrudgingly offered me a $10.00 online voucher after asking, which I thought a little insulting. I had probably spent at least $1500.00 in the last 12 months purchasing online at The Warehouse. Never again! Failed delivery & lousy customer service! Don't go there!

Disappointing Experience at The Warehouse Oamaru: Rude and Unprofessional Staff

My recent visit to The Warehouse in Oamaru left me incredibly disappointed due to the behaviour of a checkout clerk. After placing my items on the counter and putting the shopping basket underneath, the staff member asked for the basket. Since she had already started scanning my items, I was focused on packing my bags and acknowledged her request with a nod and a hum.

She then demanded in a firm tone, “Give me the basket, sir! … Or don’t you speak English?” I found this remark unnecessary and rude, and I told her so. She insisted it wasn’t rude and that her comment was justified.

After completing the transaction, she didn’t ask if I wanted a receipt or offer one. Instead, she immediately began complaining to the next customer about “this guy” and claimed her remark was normal. The next customer even pointed out that it was inappropriate to speak about a previous customer that way, but she didn’t seem to care.

Before she could start ringing up the next customer’s items, I politely asked for my receipt and left the store, for the last time. I won’t be returning to The Warehouse in Oamaru after this experience.

Albany store great

Albany store great. Well merchandised and nice to shop at. Silverdale store badly laid out and even the store manager didnt know what they had in stock. . Wanted more of what I had bought in Albany. Good prices if you accept that customer service is poor. A far call from the Warehouse where when you found a staff member they would go out of their way to help. Almost ended up driving a half an hour to Albany store. Wont shop at Silverdale Warehouse again.

On 21-10-2025 , I visited The Warehouse New Plymouth to browse items as I often do when I need to relax. While in the beauty section, I picked up a Maybelline foundation with the intention of purchasing it. I was on a phone call with my partner at that time, and he advised me not to buy it. As I was still on the call, I absentmindedly placed the foundation back in the beauty area near the Daisy deodorants rather than its exact original spot.
A short while later, while I was browsing in another section, a woman dressed in black and wearing a headset approached me and asked if she could have a word. I ended my call and agreed. The first thing she said was that I was “on camera” and demanded that I tell her where I had put the foundation. I was taken aback and confused, as I had not taken or hidden anything. She then said, “I know you people,” which I found extremely offensive and discriminatory, as I am an international student from India. She also stated that she would call the police if I did not cooperate.
Her tone and accusations made me feel completely humiliated. Other shoppers were staring at me, and I felt like I was being treated as a thief. I repeatedly told her that I had placed the foundation back somewhere in the beauty section and even asked her to follow me so I could show her. Initially, she refused and accused me again of hiding items, but when she finally followed me, I showed her the foundation—it was right there in an open area, clearly visible to anyone.
Despite this, she did not apologise or check the cameras to verify what had actually happened. I left the store feeling shaken, embarrassed, and deeply hurt. As an international student living alone in New Zealand, this incident has affected me profoundly. Since that day, I have been too anxious to visit The Warehouse or any other shopping centre in New Plymouth.
I am requesting that this incident be investigated seriously and that appropriate action be taken regarding the behaviour and attitude of the staff member involved. I would also appreciate a formal apology from the store for the distress and discrimination I experienced. No customer should be made to feel targeted or humiliated, especially based on their ethnicity or background.

Delivery gone down hill recently

I buy groceries and household items fortnightly online at Warehouse, and in past I have been pretty happy with the service overall. Most of the time goods ship within 1-2 days (usually day after I order), and - until recently - they were shipped from NI warehouses, so usually arrived at my NI urban address the business day following shipment. SO ordering Tuesday afternoons, parcels would almost always ship Wed or Thur, and arrive to me Thur or Fri. So far so good. However for my past 2 fortnightly shops (with multiple parcels each shop) products have been shipping from Christchurch to my NI address - adding at least a business day to delivery time. As I use for day to day groceries and cat food more than anything else, arriving on a Monday rather than a Friday is a pain - and means I have to get top up in person shop at my local NW to carry thru the weekend. Have no idea why they have switched on recent weeks, as must cost them a lot more to ship multiple grocery boxes from South to Nth Isl each order than within NI?? Delivery time aside - their Shotz cleaning prod range is fantastic, there are usually good cat food options, the rubbish bags & charcoal cat litter are fab, and most of their home Market Kitchen food range is really good too. If you ever need customer service it will be slow or non existant, but for the type of products I buy from them I don't care. Will still continue to buy, but hope they reconsider between island deliveries.

On line Order Number 26678451. The product was described as a Tablet Holder. The holder was so small it was unstable with a Telephone nevermind a Tablet. The product is of no use to me.

The razer blades multi pack .…

The razer blades multi pack that is a look alike of Gillette and fit Gillette handle. These are very poor quality and don't cut that well. When shaving they feel blunt. My advice is buy the real Gillette blades and not these cheap blades.

Do not buy online goods from The Warehouse. I bought goods that had been advertised as being on sale at The Warehouse. They took my money off me, in the meantime my Mother was sick so I could not go down directly and pick up the goods. A week passed and I received two reminders from The Warehouse to pick up my goods. I took time away from my Mother's care to go down and collect the goods to be told they could not find my order and could I return another day or better still perhaps just accept a refund. I bought these goods while they were on sale.....missing out on buying them at any other outlet that offered the same item on sale ....now I do not have the goods and will probably have to pay full price. How is it that a company can advertise goods on sale that they do not have??? It probably did not help that the staff just did not seem to care.

Rubbish Product, Rubbish Service.

Bought a Bookcase online from 'The Warehouse', when it arrived it was such poor quality and such poor condition and had parts missing, we requested to send it back and get a refund. They basically stonewalled us then today, out of the blue some extra parts were delivered without our request or knowledge. It is the worst quality product I have ever received from an online purchase. I will never buy online from 'The Warehouse' ever again. I buy from Temu now, I've never had a problem with Temu.

FALSE ADVERTISING AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY FROM THE WAREHOUSE

No option for zero stars unfortunately.

Bought a bike carrier. Advertised specs said it was good for 70kg load. When the item arrived the instructions said only 30kg max load.
I immediately contacted customer support.

8 WEEKS, 5 phone calls and various emails with photos later I finally received a courier slip by email to return the item.
I was unable to respond for 2 days following that email. I was then told my case was being closed due to a lack of action by me!!!
I contacted customer support again to advise them of my situation and once I was able to prepare the item for pick up I let them know it is ready for collection, but have had no reply to date.
This has not been resolved. The item is still sitting by my door and no refund in sight either.
I guess the CGA protections mean little to The Warehouse. Buyer Beware.

The Warehouse marketplace. Bad customer experience.

Purchased an item from The Warehouse online through marketplace seller BLUESHIFT. Delivery address was to a business which was confirmed on receipt after purchase was made. NZ Post could not deliver because business address was not included on label so it was sent back to BLUESHIFT DC. The Warehouse accepted responsibility for the stuff up and gave a $10 voucher to spend online but didn’t make a difference because I still had to pay for package to be redelivered by BLUESHIFT. No comms between these 2 businesses. Best to buy from someone more likely to get it right the first time.
