Simplicity and Security

Simplicity and Security. As an American senior citizen retired in a foreign country, it is very helpful to have trustworthy services such a Avira. Also, my Spanish is marginal at best so another layer of protection / security is an asset.

Great value for the money

I got Avira with a great discount, that is what grabbed my attention. Then Avira gave me another discount on their the PC tune up program. Both the antivirus and the PC tune up software works great. Great value for the money.

Avira is an excellent antivirus program…

Avira is an excellent antivirus program for everyone because it supports a wide variety of platforms and offers some of the best pricing, in addition to providing powerful and flexible protection along with an excellent basic Firewall that integrates seamlessly with existing Firewall systems. That being said/Nevertheless, the Firewall's functionality could be improved slightly in the area of more advanced settings—beyond just allowing or denying connections—to help skilled users customize the settings further and enhance security tailored specifically to the individual user.

Avira free software internet protection.

Hi All, Would recommend this service to all.
I have the free service. Five stars and ten out of ten.
It was kindly put onto my computer by a gentleman whilst upgrading it some time ago and has been excellent.
I still have the same level of cover today as then and it has been excellent. Cleaning and freeing up space regularly.

Dont even try the software

Dont even try the software, there is no way to contact their support. the cancel subscribtion tab on their website doesnt work i have tried on multiple systems.
They lure you in with a trial period and you are stuck for at least a year. they list a phone nymber to contact for support which is wrong.

Stay away from Avira.

Früher war Avira wirklich gut, aber anscheinend wurde das Unternehmen aufgekauft, denn jetzt ist bei Problemen niemand mehr erreichbar.
Es gibt keine Telefonhotline, keine Twitter-Nachrichten, keine E-Mail-Adresse und nicht einmal einen Chat. Nichts.
Selbst zahlende Kunden, die aus irgendeinem Grund aus ihrem Konto ausgesperrt wurden, können den Support über die Website nicht erreichen, weil man dafür eingeloggt sein muss.
Offensichtlich gibt es seit zwei Tagen irgendein Problem, sodass jetzt nicht einmal mehr die Sicherheitscodes auf das Smartphone versendet werden. Dazu gibt es keine Info, weder auf der Website noch in der Software.

Ergebnis: Ich kann mich nicht in meinen Account einloggen, den Support nicht kontaktieren und nicht auf meinen Passwortmanager zugreifen.

Ich kann jedem nur raten, die Finger von Avira zu lassen.

Avira used to be really good, but apparently the company has been bought out, because now there's no one to contact when problems arise.
There's no phone hotline, no Twitter messages, no email address, and not even a chat function. Nothing.
Even paying customers who have been locked out of their accounts for some reason can't reach support via the website because you have to be logged in to do so.

Apparently, there has been some kind of problem for two days, so now even the security codes are no longer being sent to smartphones. There is no information about this, either on the website or in the software.

The result: I can't log into my account, can't contact support, or even access my password manager.

I can only advise everyone to stay away from Avira.

Nagging popups.

Constantly interrupting my work to tell me once again for the fortieth time in half an hour about "vishing". If I had a nickel every time a popup told me about vishing or some other thing, I could buy a house in a week.
Also, I don't mind the occasional pop-up, but the frequency of them makes me just want to switch to something that can regulate notifications in free versions to something bearable.
"IPM slide-up messages are triggered only with the Free Antivirus version and cannot be disabled. "

If there was a negative star I would…

If there was a negative star I would give it... I want to cancel my license but just can't e-mail them, the link isn't working. There is no suport contact, which is enabled only after login (I can't do it because I lost the password and can't reset my password also), no message response from avira.com, from support, from facebook or even Messenger. I don't want this software anymore.

the service doesn't worka nymore

the service no longer works as it used to, it's heavy on computer usage some of the things I paid for are now locked behind a higher pay scale it's not worth the money and the customer service is ABYSMAL their chat bubble disappears never to be seen again mid conversation you can leave a ticket but you'll get no response I've placed three tickets over a long weekend with no response and the number to call costs money and it's an international number so it's a fortune. Wildly over priced. Jaspreet finally got me my refund and the staff are nice when you get through to them though they have to keep trying to upsell and keep you it's just impossible to get through to them

A Simple Request Met with Stunning Incompetence

I am beyond frustrated with Avira's support. I opened ticket #1838269 to report a misleading "unsubscribe" button in a marketing email that simply took me to my dashboard instead of actually unsubscribing me. This was a straightforward complaint about a mistitled button and a lack of a clear way to stop receiving spam emails.

What followed was a truly baffling series of interactions. Despite my clear explanation, the support team repeatedly provided me with instructions on how to disable the auto-renewal of a paid subscription. This was completely irrelevant to my issue, as I am on a trial version and have not paid for anything.

I had to explain my problem multiple times, each time receiving an unhelpful response that demonstrated a fundamental misunderstanding of what I was asking for. It was a complete waste of my time, and their incompetence has directly led me to conclude that I will not be purchasing Avira's services.

The product is fine. Their billing methods are suspect

As another reviewer mentioned below, they renew you one month ahead of time. And no heads up, that it's renewal or discontinue time, to give you a chance to cancel.

While researching, I discovered they also double-covered me for four months in 2024. In other words, I already had coverage with them, and for some reason, I took another offer from them for the same protection. So I was paying twice for the same service. Don't they have some sort of flagging system that tells them a customer is ALREADY USING THEIR SERVICE?

So, I waited three days for a response to my email. None came and I don't expect them to respond. Another commenter here wrote they simply don't respond to emails. My renewal date is 9.18.25 and they renewed the service on 8.14.25. Sneaky. Plus the hassle of emailing and no response and now I have to start over with Paypal.

I am disputing with Paypal. And I emailed this Avira, this is my next step.

I may have to go to my bank for the Mastercard that is connected to Paypal. Which means I will be contacting the fraud division.

Password manager … difficulties

An update … Avira Password Manager has always had a login difficulty … frequently third party verification was needed.

Overseas l was locked out of the app and all of my passwords. There was no means of receiving a verification code by the only means available (text message) as l was using a foreign SIM. Even when l switched to my home SIM I could not receive the Verification Code. There was absolutely no means of contacting Avira … the way of modern businesses.

Somewhat frustrating …..

Overnight Avira must have seen some of my text messages as l have been able to regain access and change the login requirements to facial recognition (a new feature).

Thank you to Avira for reacting and providing a solution. I’ll trial the new system and hopefully won’t have further issues.

malware do not install

huge piece of malware and it is impossible to uninstall from your computer once you have it, DO NOT INSTALL THIS, it is pretty much a virus at this point
