I have been with Choice for about 3…
I have been with Choice for about 3 years, and I have 5 properties with 5 comprehensive plans with Choice. I can say that for just a normal, simple repair or maintenance, they can do the work, but you still have to pay a contractor fee plus the plan, but if there is a major issue, they will scam you for sure. I had 2 major issues during the years I had plans with them, the first one was when a clothes washer broke down, after I paid 2 times ($75 each)for a contractor visit to diagnose and fix the problem, and and took about 2 months. They said that the washer is not repairable and we will compensate you to buy a new one, then after 3 months, they sent me an e-gift card from Lowe's worth $450. Meanwhile, I had to pay the tenant about $350 for staying out of the washer for about 5 months, then I bought a washer for $1200 (total inclusive tax), so I ended up paying $1100 plus $150 for the contractor. By the way, in their ads and website, they say that they will pay you for a new appliance if it's not repairable, but they will not say that they will pay only about 30% the cost of a new one. Second, I had an AC issue with another rental property. I opened a ticket and paid the contractor $100 to fix the problem, but the contractor didn't do anything, and then Choice said that the problem is the Service Valve, and in our policy, the service valve is not included. Meanwhile, other home warranties would cover that, so please check the policy for each company very carefully before entering into a contract.

Claim #1:
The gas company would not turn on our service due to a small leak in the HVAC system. We filed a claim, and paid someone $75 cash to tell us they could not fix the problem. (We had a detailed description of the problem in our initial claim.) The next day, we paid someone $85 full price to fix the problem without using the home warranty. We lost $75 total for nothing.
Claim #2:
The gas company red tagged our oven because it was not turning on. We filed a claim, and included the oven brand. The oven brand hasn't been made for like 45 years so it was obviously a vintage oven. We paid someone $75 who then told us they could not fix our oven because it didn't have a serial number and was "too old." We are again out $75 even though the oven brand was clearly listed in our claim request.
At this point, we determined the company was a scam and requested to cancel. (Not to mention when we called the HVAC company we were directed to an international call center, not a local company.) Upon further research, it appears this company has been sued multiple times for similar reasons.

My phone call was answered quickly. Once they established who I was and what my problem is they opened a claim. They gave me the claim number and what would happen. Within minutes of hanging up I had an email with the claim number and what to expect

The contractor came out as promised and fixed our garage door within 2 hours of arriving. We are very happy with our service.

I got help fast, but then I was told it would take up to30 days to get my Lowe's e card I had to go out to Lowe's and buy a refrigerator right now I'll used the Lowe's ecard when it comes to pay on the bill.

Great Job
From repair call to actual repair was a good experience. Washer repair was referred to Sears. Repair Tech diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, and made the repair within 5 days. Thanks to Choice Home Warranty and Sears for a great job.
Garage door will not open
Garage door will not open. Appt made for 2 weeks from call. Asked for closer date received email they would be here today. The hem received an email from the v company saying that they can't be here till Wednesday. Just can't depend on you guys to get anything gone quickly .
Choice Home Warranty Is One of the Worst Companies I’ve Ever Dealt With
My furnace died on Nov 10, and Choice Home Warranty has been nothing but lies, excuses, and outright neglect. Their “technician” claimed he replaced the control board — but he never touched it. I bought the correct board myself this weekend, installed it, and the furnace fired up instantly.
So not only did Choice fail to repair anything…
👉 They LIED and pretended the job was done.
Then they backed a contractor who tried to shake me down for $3,100 in fake “non-coverage” charges for work that wasn’t even needed. Everything they listed as “modifications” was basic plug-and-play furnace wiring and hookups.
Choice refused to send a different contractor.
Refused to question the fake charges.
Refused to acknowledge their tech never repaired anything.
And left my family WITHOUT HEAT FOR OVER A MONTH.
This company does NOT honor its warranty.
This company does NOT protect its customers.
This company is a scam built on loopholes and lies.
Do not waste your money with Choice Home Warranty. They will take your premiums and abandon you when you actually need help.
The communication on the the service…
The communication on the the service was not consistant...when I called in and talked with the person, my issue was covered...as soon as I gave the $75, I got an instant message to call you, and I was told it was not covered...after two bad representatives I finally got a good one..who told me we were covered....what a mess..now waiting 3 days before someone is comming......

We have used Choice for four years and have had a few events when we filed a claim. Especially easy to do and the response is a huge relief. The system also follows the claim to completion and allows for a flexible scheduling when we have needed. The contractors have all been top notch with professional techs. We tried the others who were nothing but problem after problem. Choice has been a refreshing and reliable as well as affordable service.

Choice Home Warranty was very helpful in getting us a qualified person to look at our heating system. Then after the heating specialist came and diagnosed the problem Choice quickly responded to say it qualified for being fixed. So I would say Choice is a very good company.
