Zero investment by the company in…
Zero investment by the company in Customer Service. They have eliminated all vestiges of Customer Service in the name of profit. They have zero regard or concern whether customers run out of propane. I have been on the phone for over an hour waiting for an agent to pick up to place an order since they have yet to activate my ability to order refills online. Just a terribly run company. Beware before you sign up.

If only there was a 0 star rating. This company is horrible to work with. Every delivery request for the past 4 years has been met with issues. Delays, cancellations, excuses(most of which are demonstrably untrue) but most of all just a complete lack of service.
It took over 3 months last time to get a delivery finally completed and I'm in the middle of the same nonsense now. Cancelled the delivery, claiming they can't safely access my property.....after more than 8 years of already doing so..... but no one can explain what the issue is. If they don't want any customers they're doing a bang up job.....if they actually want to keep any then there needs to be a wholesale change of both operations and leadership.
Very bad customer service
Very bad customer service. They bought a family owned Downeast energy and now fleecing customers with extra charges. We are retired couple and only use propane for cooking and they have charges us $90.00 as a surcharge for low usage. We have been a customer for over 23 years and they treat us bad.
Terrible customer service
We have the large cigar tank. We want to expand our deck, so wanted to swap out 3 smaller tanks for the large one so the tanks could be closer to the house but out of the way of the new deck plan. Around the same time we enquired (around 7 months ago) we happened to have the 10 year inspection of the propane system. The inspector (not associated with the company) said that the tank had almost reached its life span. so, perfect timing you would think. I put in the request and received a call saying that the swap would take place very soon and they would give me the heads up. Nothing. Now after at least 5 follow up calls ,winter is upon us and I still have not had this done. And the tank is getting low. You call these guys and you never hear back from them. Going to try another company. Superior is USELESS! If I could give a rating less than 1 I would.
Terrible company
I can sum up this company in one word SUCKS: No one answers the phone even after 30 minutes of being on hold. They tell you to leave a number and they will call u back, that was 3 days ago. I have already contacted a local family owned company to change companies. do not use this company and if you are, look into other options, it can save you many dollars.

Anything but "Superior"
This company recently became Superior after having service with Quarles and previously Dixie. My recent delivery has taken over 2 weeks and hasn't been made when they tell me to expect it. The hold times if you have an issue are extreme to say the least. I've had to hang up multiple times and call later due to the extensive wait. This company seems to be anything but "Superior". I am seriously considering changing the company that provides my propane. I am currently serviced in the Stuart's Draft area. Once when I called last season and held on the line for quite some time until it was disclosed that the hold time was approximately 3 days.
Superior Propane- Unresponsive
I am purchasing a home in Newfoundland that is currently heated by baseboard heaters. I contacted Superior Propane several times via email and voicemail to discuss heating options. That was a week ago, with no response. Crickets.
I guess they don’t need any new business.
Couldn’t be more frustrated with this…
Couldn’t be more frustrated with this poor level of service. Actually was hung-up on by the representative who said I kept interrupting him…no, I live in a rural area with some delay on my phone. This is pathetic customer service. If there’s a nail in the coffin it’s that I’m now on hold for 20 minutes with no resolution or time frame given for help. Absolutely pathetic. Shop around. I will now.
Worst Service
Isatalled in Dec, said they would be back in spring to level tanks, it is now Oct 3rd, after many phone calls an appointment was finally made, got the confirmation call for appt and NO ONE showed up. Call them and still waiting for a call back, called again, waiting for call back. Also was supposed to get first year Tank Rental FREE, you must pay it first though, still waiting on getting that back after 10 months! Guess first year is NOT FREE as they have been collecting the interest on my money that I SHOULD have...NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!
Superior is Overpriced
Superior is more expensive than the local suppliers. I just switched due to Superior price being $1.30 more per gallon. When called to cancel they offered to lower their price. Too Late. I feel a lot better using a local supplier that also offers service. I was told that they would pick up there tank within 30 days. It was closer to 60 days before it was picked up. The online reading said it had 165 gallons in the tank, after picking up there telling me there is only a 130 gallons
At $3.09 a gallons that’s over a $100 difference plus the pick up charge.

If I could give them 0 stars I would
If I could give them 0 stars I would. Horrible service. My tank has a "warning" that the company receives when the tank is at 30 % capacity. They are supposed to come sometime later to fill the tank. On August 6th, my tank was around 28% so I called to find out when they would be able to come and fill the tank. I was not expecting them to say that a delivery would be done the same day or the next day, but sometime within the next few days. I was told it would be done by August 15th. We are August 14th and there has not been a delivery and they could not assure me that it would be done tomorrow. Pathetic service.
this is the unprofessional experience…
this is the unprofessional experience in store for you if you deal with superior "there is nothing superior about this company"
They sprang a fee of 220 inactivity fee not in my contract so I found a more honest provider I arranged for them to remove their tank they were supposed to be here between 9 and 10 on 6/4 no show no call I emailed and then they were supposed to be here 2 - 4 no show no call driver finally showed about 5 he said he would have to come back this morning first thing with a tank mover it is now 1:15 no show no call I have been e-mailing for an update every hour and nothing these folks have no customer service training whatsoever
Just Wow
Wow, it's never thought of looking before trying to get them as a customer.. luckily they are so bad that credit to Chantal, she answered right away to tell me that anytime associate will reach out right away to me. Well 3 emails with her after that, nobody reached out to me. They are terrible and must not care about service or new potential customers lol. Well the reviews are true "they suck but FreeGas answered the call right away and gave me the answers and will be my new customer. What is the matter with businesses these days.. customer service is a must but just conducting proper work ethics is almost impossible these days.. i would never be in business if I did this and never would.. service industry is exactly that "A SERVICE "
WORST PROPANE COMPANY!
I wish I could give negative stars to this AWFUL company! We used to do business with a local propane company that was later bought by Superior. Their "service" is the worst I have ever seen. They grossly overcharge IF you can get them to show up. We finally cancelled. After missing the pickup date multiple times and when they finally showed up they couldn't get the tank. We moved the tank ourselves to make their pickup easy, but had to call them MULTIPLE times to come out to get it. They then have the nerve to charge us $225 for that pickup! We had NO contract with them. I refuse to pay this. ******DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM****** We are now using Thompson Gas and they are WONDERFUL. Call them if you want good service!
Terrible customer service
I live in Ottawa and I have just had a terrible experience with this company. I was recently without any propane for 3 days in -20C weather. Half a dozen calls to their "Customer Service" people did nothing to expedite the matter and to add insult to injury, they would not provide any explanation or timeline for delivery, nor were any promises to call me back actually kept. This is the second time in 5 years that I've run out of propane in extremely cold weather. My customer service experience with this company has been consistently horrible. I have had it with this company and I will be finding a new service provider in the Spring.
If You Depend On Superior Propane for Reliable Service Delivery You Will Run Out of Gas!
We have been clients with Superior Propane for about 6 years now, with our residence including 4 seniors. Unfortunately, their service delivery has often Not been very reliable as required in the winter period. They frequently seem to have problems with their trucks breaking down. As well, they have a very bad habit of delaying the refill of our 3 large propane tanks, which they have often let fall down to dangerously low levels. This can also jeopardize the mechanical functioning of the furnace and potentially cause costly damages and necessary repairs. In fact, they once actually let our tanks go right out to empty with zero reserves! Our gas reserves have declined down to as low as 10% to 15% on several occasions. This can create the risk of running out of gas entirely in the coldest winter months. Having convenient access to reliable propane gas delivery is not a luxury, but a service I depend on for Heating, Hot Water and Cooking on our Gas range. As well, I certainly do not want my plumbing pipes to burst from being frozen due to no winter heating. Our service payments have always been up to date. Therefore, I see no valid reason for Superior to fall behind on their fill-ups. Their most recent excuse, was due to the scheduled delivery truck breaking down. Then on the second attempt, they said the driveway was inaccessible from too much snow accumulation. This was not the case, since two different vehicles had easily driven up and left our driveway several times. I reside in a rural location with my driveway being fairly long but similar to many clients in our region. In my opinion, the driver just did Not feel like backing up the truck closer to the house. He actually had no trouble entering the driveway but stopped very short of where my propane tanks were located. Like a fool he started walking up the driveway with the fill-up hose, from over a hundred feet away from our residence. I was informed that their hose length is about 75 ft., and so he should have known it would not reach the tanks! As said above, our vehicle can easily drive through that small amount of snow, while the front entrance was totally cleared from any snowplow dump. I believe that the driver was just being lazy or in a bad mood and looking for a reason to avoid the fill-up, which was already long overdue in the first place. Superior propane does Not seem to appreciate their long standing clients. To be sure, I do not like being threatened to have my propane delivery suspended for no good reason, in the middle of the coldest period of the winter! It was necessary to call 2 or 3 times to complain and reschedule delivery, but they have repetitively ignored my need for an immediate fill-up. In addition, they seem to have a lot of clients with major concerns, since I have often waited several hours for a call back. Currently, my tanks are down to an average of 15% or so and falling quickly. Finally, I discussed the delivery issue with a customer service agent and he told me that I could expect a propane delivery within 5 days. However, when the rep sent the delivery confirmation notice, it stated within 10 days! My propane will definitely be gone in 5 days! They clearly practice unethical business tactics and really could not give a damn about their client concerns. There are other propane service providers available that serve the Ottawa Valley where I reside, and I will be considering switching companies asap. Even though Superior Propane is now a wholly owned Canadian company, they were also originally affiliated with an American company called Superior Plus Corp. They obtain their abundant supply of propane gas from the USA... no wonder they are one of the more expensive distributors for the Canadian market! I think it's high time for Canadians to start supporting their own companies that have been Canadian for many more generations. My experience has been that a lot of USA companies do not have much respect for Canadian clients, especially now with the Trump Tariffs crisis, that we are being unfairly subjected to by the USA. It's time to "buy Canadian", and purchase propane gas refined in our country. After all these experiences, I certainly do not recommend Superior Propane as a friendly, efficient or ethical propane gas service provider.
All I can say if you have a choice do…
All I can say if you have a choice do not choose them unless you like feeling disappointed.
I would give zero stars if I could
I would give zero stars if I could. Price gouging is unbelievable for starters. 99cents per litre when I can get it from P38 for 48cents per litre - yes, that’s right, Half the price! So I am in the process of switching to P38 and Superior Propane says a customer service rep will contact me about the removal of the tanks. No messages anywhere but they come and remove the tanks without informing me leaving me without heat in 1c weather. Seriously?!! I will be contacting a lawyer for sure. Avoid this horrible business. Anyone else is better. They also owe me money for propane that was left in the tanks. Oh yeah, and they charged me over $200 for the removal of the tanks too.
Just beware If you are considering this…
Just beware If you are considering this company. I am a fairly new customer. I got a propane tank for a fireplace at the cottage. Marketing is good at selling and don't explain the specifics. If you are a low user they send an email substantially increasing the cost of the tank. I have two options: accept or have them pick up the tank. Since I just installed and paid for the installation it is now difficult to switch companies. Just keep this in mind if you are considering.
